Savannah Chrisley is keeping Nic Kerdiles’ memory alive.
The Growing Up Chrisley alum recently paid tribute to the former hockey star on the first anniversary of his death by resharing her original post mourning Nick’s passing.
"I can't believe it's been a year...,” the 27-year-old wrote on her Sept. 23 Instagram Story alongside the video which featured clips and photos of the two together. “Still don't want to believe it.”
The next slide was an image of a pile of white roses and a photo of Savannah and Nic from their engagement shoot. Alongside a Bible verse, Savannah wrote, “Thank you for all the signs you send me.”
At the time of the accident, police told local Nashville news station WKRN that Nic was riding his motorcycle through a residential area when he ran a stop sign and ran into the driver’s side of an SUV. The hockey pro-turned real estate agent was transported to the hospital where he later died of his injuries at the age of 29.
Following the news of his death, Savannah—who was with the athlete from 2017 to 2020—penned an emotional tribute on Instagram.
“Nicolas Henry Stephan Kerdiles… I wish you could see all the people that are showing up and loving you right now. I can see that grin of yours so clearly. You left such a mark on this world and it’s so empty without you…,” The Unlocked podcast host wrote at the time. “It is impossible to believe that you are really gone. I am not sure how to even absorb that news, I don’t know how to react. I am so sad and so numb.”
Savannah also addressed Nic’s death on an episode of her podcast—which aired two weeks after his death.
"Nic and I were in each other's lives for six years, we were engaged and there were so many great memories and at the end of the day, Nic made a huge impact on my life and he left such a mark on this world,” she said as she reflected on their relationship. "I cannot tell you how many people have reached out and told me stories about how Nic had impacted their life."
She continued, "And if his passing teaches us anything, I think it's to love and love hard. And to treat people with so much love and kindness because that's exactly what he did. So Nic, I love you, you'll be missed and you left a mark.”
