Get excited, Halloween fans − the time to stock up is drawing ever closer.
With Halloween coming seemingly earlier every year, it's likely plenty of customers have already seen orange and black decorations popping up in stores as early as July. While some have lamented the early releases, sales show that even more people are thrilled to see the products out, even when temperatures are still topping 90 degrees.
But companies tend to hold off on the big-ticket items a little longer. We're talking giant skeletons, licensed iconic horror characters and fancy animatronics.
Those chomping at the bit to get their hands on new collections have something to celebrate this week: Lowe's should not only have their "Haunted Harbor" line fully rolled out in stores and online, but more yet-to-be released items are on the way.
Looking forward to adding some new additions to your cart? Here's what we know about Lowe's already-announced line and the new products dropping this week.
Haunted Harbor highlights
As previously covered by USA TODAY, Lowe's announced its themed Halloween line last month, titled the "Haunted Harbor" collection.
Featuring all kinds of underwater horrors, supernatural figures and, naturally, a kraken, the collection began rolling out in stores in mid-August and is now available for purchase both on the Lowe's website and at brick-and-mortar locations.
Items from the line included a 3.5-foot Kraken; a 6-foot animatronic seaweed witch and a 6.5-foot animated wicked sea witch queen; a 6-foot animated undead diver; 6.5-foot animatronic zombie fisherman; and a 6-foot animatronic creepy captain.
Even more new releases
In addition to the previously discussed "Haunted Habor" collection, Lowe's launched a few more new items available online this week, some of which customers may already be seeing in stores.
The additions include some beloved creepy (and kooky) properties, including Disney's Haunted Mansion decor and a new Wednesday and Addams Family line.
Check out the highlights to follow.
A dancing Wednesday Addams
The 5-foot Musical Wednesday Addams Raven Dance Animatronic captures one of Wednesday's arguably most iconic moments from the 2022 television series.
The life-size animated figure swings her arms side to side in a spooky dance motion while spirited surf music plays, just as seen on TV. She is sound or manually activated.
How to get it: Wednesday is available online and in some stores for $249.
Cousin Itt
Another member of the Addams Family is coming out to play this season. This life-sized 4-foot Cousin Itt Musical Animatronic comes with the iconic silky hair, eyeglasses and top hat.
Cousin Itt plays the classic Addams Family song while bopping side to side along with the music.
How to get it: Cousin Itt is available online and in some stores for $199.
Thing book stack
Would it be an Adamms Family line without an appearance from Thing?
Inspired specifically by the "Wednesday" television show, this Thing is perched atop a stack of books ready to be placed on your table. The 13-inch Musical Wednesday Thing Bookstack Tabletop Animatronic taps its finger impatiently against the book covers as voice lines from the show play. Even more hair-raising is the spider that pops out of the stack to surprise unsuspecting guests.
How to get it: The Thing bookstack animatronic sells online and in some stores for $49.98.
Haunted Mansion welcome
Big fan of the ride that has been called even Walt Disney's favorite? You can make a Haunted Mansion in your own home starting at the entrance.
The Disney 12-inch Musical LED The Haunted Mansion Wall Plaque can be placed on your front door to welcome guests to your haunted houses. The decoration plays an instrumental version of "Grim Grinning Ghosts" and lights up with an eerie blue light. Pair it with some of the line's gravestones and set the mood before guests even reach your threshold.
How to get it: The welcome arch sells online and in some stores for $34.98.
Headless knight
What screams Haunted Mansion more than a headless apparition?
The Disney 6-foot The Haunted Mansion Musical Headless Knight Animatronic offers up the iconic trope of a ghoul holding its own head while it scares the living daylights out of unwanted guests. The beheaded character's eyes also glow a menacing green color.
The life-sized animated figure plays the "Grim Grinning Ghosts" song and sings along, with the knight's mouth moving along to the lyrics.
How to get it: The headless knight sells online and in some stores for $299.
